Why You Should Exhibit at GTMF2025 Fair?
Gaziantep and its surrounding provinces are considered as the cluster of textile production which carries the highest production capacities of our country. From Carpet to Yarn, and from Knitting to Weaving, and from Denim to Nonwoven, across all sub-branches of the sector, our textile production is clustered around Gaziantep as the main spot of the exhibition and its surrounding provinces. In short, to get a closer insight, we should first look through the production capacities.
Carpet Production and Carpet Industry:
The roots of the carpet dates back to the Anatolian Seljuk State. The first known carpets in the world were woven by Turks in Central Asia. Gaziantep industry, with approximately 1650 carpet weaving machines in the sector, and with around 610 million m² of production annually, carries out nearly 91% of Turkey's total machine-made carpet production. The carpet and rug sector has created employment for approximately 40,000 people in Gaziantep industry.
The city carries out alone %91(*) of the machine-made carpet production in Turkey. The city positioned itself as the major center where domestic carpet manufacturers are located within its reach. When a product launch come to exhibits about carpet manufacturers, Gaziantep Textile Machinery Fair GTMF 2025 stands as the most cost-effective and ideal.
Carpet Range
Machine-made carpets can own many different characteristics. Their prices are more affordable than hand-woven carpets, because their production consumes less-time. Production can be made by using various materials. In general, materials such as acrylic, nylon, polyester are preferred in their production.
Shaggy carpets can be described as carpets with a long and thick pile fur appearance within the classification of their generic outlook. The word Shaggy means ‘long and fluffy pile’ in English. The pile length of Shaggy carpets is usually in between 3 cm and 5 cm. The yarns are thick and twisted or straight types are available depending on the preference. The fact that the carpet can have very smooth surface during the weaving, this relates to the quality of the fiber which applied.
Carpets woven by dipping the thread yarns into the previously formed ground texture and fixing or coating them with a special adhesive are called "tufting carpets". Hand tufted carpets, which are prepared with a very practical method, are extremely high quality despite their fast design. Hand tufted carpets, which are generally preferred in special areas and woven entirely with manual skills, are designed with an emphasis method and offer quite originality in terms of style, color and pattern.
Carpets, also known as non-slip based carpets, are covered with a special base containing durable materials such as PVC and latex. Thanks to the base called gel, the carpet sticks to slippery surfaces such as ceramics and marble. The flexible material on the base allows the carpet to stick to the ground and releases pressure against the force over it. Gel-based carpets, which stand out as a useful alternative especially for areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and corridors, enjoy being lightweight and easily washed as their main advantages. They can also be easily folded and stored due to their flexibility.

Yarn Production and Yarn Industry:
The city, which carries out alone 97.7%(*) of the Polypropylene Yarn production produced in Turkey, the country’s leading producer in carpet yarn production while managing almost entire demand domestically, in line with the demand of carpet production. Polypropylene yarn, which is considered the most lightweight and the most preferred yarn used in the textile sector, also named as pp yarn and polyp yarn. Due to its technical features, it is not only the most preferred and used yarn type by the narrow weaving sector, but its usage also extended to many areas and industries in home textiles, socks and carpet manufacturing.
One of the LYOCELL fiber production facilities operate in Gaziantep, amongst six facilities around the world and the single one in Turkey. Lyocell fiber is a regenerated cellulosic-based fiber type. These fibers are obtained from the wood pulp cellulose of plants such as birch, oak or eucalyptus by wet or dry jet drawing method.
Gaziantep industrialists alone carry out 77%(*) of the Acrylic Yarn capacity which brings the city to the top in manufacturing in this field as well. As is known, Acrylic fiber is the type of fiber which is most similar to wool amongst other artificial fibers. Acrylic yarn produced from these fibers is preferred especially in winter due to its keeping warm features. Home textile products: Acrylic yarn is used to make home textile products such as carpets, rugs, blankets, pillows, cushions. Acrylic yarn is a suitable material for these products because it is durable and easy to maintain.
The yarn obtained by combining yarn with elastane in order to provide high stretch-recovery properties to normal yarns is called gimped yarn. Gipped yarns can be stretched under pressure and return to their original size when the force is eliminated. Gipped yarn can be used in all kinds of knitted fabrics. Gaziantep, which carries out 48%(*) of total production of Gipped Yarn, ranks 1st in the country's production classification with this production capacity and clustering.
40%(*) of the production of Çuval, torba / Bags and Sacks from PE/PP Band from PE or PP strip can also be defined under the capacity of Gaziantep industrial capacity. When considering all of these parameters as a whole, the city, which is the leader in Turkey, sets itself apart from competition with these production capacities, in comparison to the many country’s total capacity.
Under the classification of artificial and synthetic yarns, Gaziantep ranks 1st by producing more than 54% of the country’s total capacity.
It is prevalent that machinery and technology developers for polypropylene and acrylic yarn manufacturers will achieve huge marketing success and will make huge profits with low costs in the cost-benefit calculation which applies to the GTMF 2025 fair.

Dyeing-Finishing Sector:
The yarn and fabric dyeing and finishing production facilities in Turkey are mostly located in Trakya (Çorlu, Çerkezköy), Kahramanmaraş, Bursa, Denizli, Adana and Gaziantep. In most of these facilities, textile finishing is carried out under their own production capabilities across integrated production from yarn to fabric. Turkey has the second largest Dyeing-Printing and Finishing capacity in the world after China. More than 600 companies operate in this field are located in our country.
G.Antep, which is a leading producer in many items of the textile sector, runs under extremely lower capacities in dyeing. The fundamental reason has been the water problem around Organized Industrial Zone in the city. As known, the textile dyeing sector, which is clustered around areas where water is accessible, located nearby around K.Maraş, which is 40km away from Gaziantep. K.Maraş is the largest in the region with its knitting, weaving and yarn dyeing capacities which has the 3rd largest Dyeing, Printing and Finishing cluster in Turkey. K.Maraş also regarded as the most prominent textile hubs where GTMF2025 fair looking for visitors.
Besides, Gaziantep OIZ has successfully delivered a project that will meet the 100-year water demand of the Organized Industrial Zone by channeling a 70km water line from the Euphrates River in 2024. In this case, although the OIZ is in a complex structure, it is apparent that the textile sector will benefit the most from the channeling of water. Especially expectations will be on the investments in yarn dyeing and fabric dyeing from their source. Dyeing, printing, finishing technology developer companies that will participate in the GTMF2025 fair as an exhibitor will be the closest candidates to access new investments which are made around Gaziantep and its surrounding areas.
